President of United Russia Dmitry Medvedev, at a meeting with candidates for regional branch secretaries, said that the four candidates for the positions of heads of regional branches of United Russia are the current governors of Russian regions and take full responsibility for them. According to him, this predetermines that these candidates are offered to head the party branches.
According to the United Russia press service, the candidates for the secretarial positions of the regional branches from among the heads of the constituent organizations were the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov, the head of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug Vladislav Kuznetsov, the Governor of Perm. District Dmitry Makhonin and Omsk Region head Vitaly Khotsenko. The remaining candidates include heads of regional administrations and representatives of federal structures.
“Our other current colleagues have also done a lot and I hope they will have the necessary authority. One way or another, you are the bearers of public authority or administrative and economic forces,” said Dmitry Medvedev.
He noted that the party position is an independent business.

At the meeting with the candidates for the regional branch secretary, they discussed the tasks facing the regional branches of the party, including supporting participants in a special military operation and their families and helping the front. Also discussed were the implementation of the people’s “United Russia” program, obligations to voters and preparation for presidential elections.
As noted by Andrei Turchak, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council and Secretary of the General Council of United Russia, in addition to management experience in various fields, future party colleagues have good electoral experience.
“Mikhail Kotyukov, Vitaly Khotsenko and Vladislav Kuznetsov literally made their own choices this fall. “Our other colleagues also participated in the campaigns in their regions in one way or another,” he said.
By decision of the Presidium of the General Council of United Russia, all candidates were appointed as proxy candidates. Their nominations will be evaluated at regional conferences by the end of November.
