President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a law clarifying a number of provisions regarding the procedure for electing the head of state. corresponding document appeared on the official legal information portal.
The document clarifies the provisions regarding photo and video recording, especially at voting centers. Only persons who have the right to do so in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation will be able to engage in such work. They are also responsible for monitoring the secrecy of voting and protecting the confidentiality of personal data contained in voter lists and other documents.
There are also restrictions on filming at voting centers in military units. It will only take place there if accredited media representatives agree with the unit commander.
Only media representatives working under employment contracts will be able to attend election commission meetings.
The document also clarifies the rules for voting in voting centers abroad. Voting dates may be changed, especially if voting poses a threat to the life and health of Russians.
In addition, if a registered candidate for the presidency of the Russian Federation has a criminal record, an obligation is imposed on the election commission that registered him to submit information about his criminal record in writing.
The law will come into force on November 14, the official publication date.
