“The constitutional order must be preserved.”
President Andrzej Duda’s speech contained very important words that provoked an outrageous response from the opposition currently seeking to take power.
I take my word very seriously and will certainly stick to it. Ladies and gentlemen, I will not support any attempt to limit, undermine or question the constitutional powers of the President
– Duda noticed.
The constitutional order must be preserved. I do not agree to any circumvention or bending of the law. I have always defended and will continue to defend the two most important Polish values for which entire generations have fought: freedom and solidarity
– Andrzej Duda emphasized.
After these words, Civic Coalition MPs started shouting and laughing loudly. When President Duda emphasized that “the constitutional order must be preserved,” one lawmaker shouted, “Restored.”
““I will not hesitate to use the presidential veto.”
If I notice that a solution raises serious substantive or legal doubts, I will not hesitate to use the presidential veto or submit the bill to the Constitutional Court.
– said Duda.
The political camp I come from has learned this many times, including with regard to extremely high-profile media laws.
– he remembered.
A possible presidential veto should not be an excuse to not fulfill your election promises. I take my words very seriously. You have also made promises to the Poles, and please keep them
– appealed to the groups that wanted to form a new government. There was constant laughter and shouting from the Civic Coalition benches, and applause from the PiS benches.
