Four coalition Civic Coalition, Poland 2050, Polish People’s Party and the Left has not yet announced the final composition of the future governmentBut some nominations seem certain. The leader of the People’s Party, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, will not only become deputy prime minister, but also head of the Ministry of Defense.
Why Kosiniak-Kamysz chose this position? They are of course in the background presidential electionswhich influence the calculations of politicians who have ambitions to conquer the presidential palace, or at least participate in the 2025 elections. That is why Szymon Hołownia strove so hard for the position of Chairman of the Sejm, and therefore, the PSL leader set his sights on the Ministry of National Defense.
Our information shows that Kosiniak-Kamysz believes he will repeat Mariusz Błaszczak’s image success. The current Minister of Defense regularly gains confidence in rankings and his recognition has also increased significantly. His activities in rebuilding the army, acquiring weapons and responding to crises also caused the minister to gain significant importance in his own political camp.
Does Kosiniak-Kamysz have a chance to follow the same path? It’s more than doubtful. It’s actually a trap.
Our power source tells us this:
Tusk’s plan is as follows. He wants to admit Kosiniak-Kamysz to the Ministry of National Defense, creating a vision of political and image success that is within his reach. And this could actually happen if the head of the PSL had money for armaments. AND Tusk already knows that this “money” will no longer exist. And it will certainly be less than under PiS. This means one thing: Kosiniak-Kamysz will be the face of cuts in security, armaments and the army. And again, he will pay a disproportionately high price for joint governance with the Platform, just as he paid in 2015, when he was the face of raising the retirement age, even though it was a PO action, not PSL.
Will Kosiniak-Kamysz fall into Tusk’s trap? We will see. One thing is certain: the Platform’s coalition partners must be aware of this they have entered into a coalition with a politician who can very effectively and efficiently get his ‘companions on the road’ into trouble. And in such a way that in the future they will no longer even be able to point the finger at the perpetrator of their misfortunes.
