President Jarosław Kaczyński commented on the issue of his transfer of power within the party. The Law and Justice leader responded to the calls of some politicians from the patriotic camp.
In an interview for the Polish Press Agency, the PiS leader referred to statements by Marcin Mastalerek and Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, who reportedly suggested that the time had come for him to give up power in the party.
There is no point in debating these matters. My term as PiS president ends in 2024, before the presidential elections. A new party leader will then be elected. If no extraordinary events occur, it will be carried out this way. The PiS congress will decide who will be the new leader
– he said.
Possible successor
Who would see Jarosław Kaczyński in his place? The PiS president gave details:
I don’t think it can be someone with short experience in our party. It must be someone a generation younger than me, tested in fire and ice water. We have such people
– he said.
