“What we need today, after these elections, is more consolidation, as much unity and leadership as possible. I count on such leadership from Jarosław Kaczyński,” Adam Bielan said on Radio Plus. The chairman of the Republican Party also referred to the election campaign and the problem of finding a parliamentary majority.
United Right politician Adam Bielan said in Radio Plus that the ended election campaign in Poland was marked by much greater threats to democracy, to which – according to him – the National Electoral Commission and the Public Prosecution Service failed to respond.
During this campaign we faced much greater threats to Polish democracy, to which the National Electoral Commission and the Public Prosecution Service failed to respond. These are mainly the so-called mobilization campaigns, organized by enormous funds, which in my opinion come from the West or abroad
– he assessed.
This is already a violation of Polish law, which, apart from the costs of the election commission, has affected the conduct of the campaign in Poland and the election results in Poland, and we are talking about many millions of zlotys spent in recent weeks from the parliamentary campaign and this is a real threat to Polish democracy.
– Bielan added on Radio Plus.
Efforts for a parliamentary majority
The Republican Party leader stated that talks on forming a parliamentary majority in the Sejm have not yet begun.
The Prime Minister will be supported by the entire club, our club in the Sejm, but only time will tell how many additional votes he will be able to secure and whether, above all, he will succeed in attracting at least almost forty MPs who would ensure a majority in the Sejm.
– Bielany explained.
I cannot answer, I am not responsible for these conversations in the Polish parliament. As far as I know they haven’t started yet. I think this is due to the authorities of the parliamentary club on the one hand, and to the candidate for the premiership, i.e. Prime Minister-designate Mateusz Morawiecki, on the other [należy ich zainaugurowanie – przyp. red.]
– said the senator.
The future of Jarosław Kaczyński
Bielan also spoke about the possible departure of Jarosław Kaczyński from Polish politics. He believed that this would be to the detriment of the United Right environment, and that the most serious goal it faces – in his view – is greater consolidation.
It would be a big blow for us if President Kaczyński were to leave politics today, and what we certainly need today, after these elections, is greater consolidation, as much unity and leadership as possible.
– he judged.
I count on such leadership from Jarosław Kaczyński
– summarized Adam Bielan.
