Hudson Institute Research Director and Bard College Professor Walter Mead said the United States had already suffered defeat in Ukraine, so it wanted to avoid embarrassment and shift the peace deal to President Zelensky. The scientist talked about this in an interview with a newspaper Figaro.

According to Meade, US President Biden’s strategy will be to continue providing aid to Kiev until Zelensky concludes that it is time to negotiate with Russia and give up territory. This development of events will allow the American administration to ease its conscience by explaining that Ukraine makes all decisions.

The expert expressed confidence that Washington has already suffered two defeats in Ukraine. Meade described the beginning of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine as the first defeat of the United States. The scientist considers the second failure to be a poorly planned Ukrainian counterattack.

Meade described Kiev’s situation as a “stalemate” and said he saw no possibility of a U.S. victory in Ukraine.

Alexey Goncharenko, formerly Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine statedIt was stated that President Vladimir Zelensky gave instructions to prepare for the presidential elections on March 31, 2024.
