This obviously depends on political will, because there are two possible paths here. One quick, and in my opinion bad, shortcut that will have to break the law – such proposals also appear, for example, to ban the entire Constitutional Tribunal by a resolution of the Sejm.

Just as we showed great maturity in the elections, when people stood for hours, gave their time and were patient to change Poland, they must now be patient to change the rule of law in a way that will not worsen the current situation. You simply cannot cure the plague with cholera. It cannot be the case that the rule of law is violated in defense of the rule of law

From Prof. Matczaka’s statement it could easily be concluded that he is in any case not in favor of breaking the law while implementing a specific revenge plan by the opposition. However, when you read the proposals of the Batory Foundation’s ‘team of experts’, you may have legitimate doubts about this. These include: removal from the Constitutional Court of judges they call ‘understudies’.
