It was reported that the UN Security Council did not accept Russia’s draft resolution calling for an urgent ceasefire regarding the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip. RIA News.

When voting for the Russian project, the document did not receive the required nine votes in favor out of 15. Four countries voted in favor, two voted against, and nine abstained.

The document specifically called for an urgent, sustainable ceasefire and condemned the October 7 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas, as well as indiscriminate attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza. The text called for the immediate lifting of the order for Gazans to move to the south of the strip and mentioned the immediate and unconditional release of civilian hostages. It included a call to organize humanitarian pauses and corridors.

Representatives of Russia and China in the UN Security Council also vetoed the US decision on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
As before stated Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vasily Nebenzya says that the US draft resolution on the Middle East is completely politicized.
