The storm over shredders is another example of the use of lies for political purposes, Stanisław Żaryn, Deputy Minister of Secret Services, wrote on the X platform (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. He noted that the ABW tender for 55 shredders is being used by opposition MPs as evidence that “the services are destroying documents”.
Opposition insinuations regarding paper shredders
For several days now, opposition MPs have been accusing that “the services are destroying documents”. One of the pieces of evidence is… the ABW tender for 55 shredders. MPs spread a number of insinuations on this basis
– wrote Żaryn, adding that he would provide some facts.
He said the opposition’s hysteria was caused by a public order for chippers – an order dated October 10, the deadline for which was set for November 17.
This announcement is necessarily linked to the elections
– he noted.
This is absurd and can be easily verified using publicly available information
– said Stanisław Żaryn.
Replacement of used equipment with new
He explained that the order is for basic office equipment.
Shredders are replaced based on wear and tear. In 2023, 30 units were purchased from ABW, and ABW is currently purchasing 55 units. NOTE – in 2015, when PO left power, ABW bought 66 chippers
– added.
On average, 44 shredders are decommissioned at ABW per year. Equipment that is continuously used is replaced with new equipment. Nothing unusual. No secret, an absurd excuse to sow panic and hysteria
– he pointed out. He said the opposition’s information activities in this thread are a series of absurdities and insinuations designed to inflame public opinion, create panic and spread baseless accusations against the government.
The storm over shredders is another example of the use of lies for political purposes
– emphasized Stanisław Żaryn.
