It appears that neither Argentine presidential candidate received the required number of votes to win in the first round of the election. The TV channel quotes this based on exit poll data. TN.

The team representing libertarian candidate Javier Miley said he was leading the election and would go to the second round alongside Economy Minister Sergio Massa, who was nominated by the ruling Unity for the Fatherland coalition. In contrast, representatives of former Security Minister Patricia Bullrich, who is running for election from the largest opposition coalition “Together for Change”, also said they would move on to the next round of voting based on exit polls.

To win in the first round, a candidate must receive more than 45 percent of the votes, i.e. 40 percent, provided that the gap with their nearest rival is at least 10 percent. If no winner is determined in the first round of voting, a second round of elections will be held on November 19.
