An international summit dedicated to the situation around the Gaza Strip and the worsening of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has begun in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. TV channel reports this Al Arabia.
Representatives of more than 30 countries, as well as participants from numerous international organizations, confirmed their participation in Saturday’s event, called the Cairo Peace Summit. In addition to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, leaders of Italy, Greece, Cyprus, some Arab countries and other states will also attend the summit.
Participation in the summit will accept also European Council President Charles Michel and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell. They want to appeal for support to Egypt, which may soon have to accept Palestinian refugees.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will also visit Cairo. But Israel denied He will attend the summit on the Palestinian issue.
