“US citizens can reschedule their appointments and will be stationed at the US Embassy in Ankara,” the embassy said.
The statement said U.S. government employees in Turkey were instructed to “minimize movements and avoid travel to the consular area of the Consulate in Adana.”
The United States also warned its citizens against large-scale protests in Turkey due to the situation expected to occur in Israel and the Gaza Strip in the coming weeks. As the diplomatic mission noted, violence can occur “at any meeting, even if initially declared peaceful.”
