Those who need it most can count on state support. We want to make sure that the state invests and does not hand out money, said Paweł Zalewski, a member of parliament from Poland 2050, in the PAP Studio. Apparently the earlier statement that “what is given cannot be taken away” no longer applies. “Let me remind you that when PiS introduced 500 plus, I understand that 800 plus is its continuation, saying that it is not a social benefit. And Marek Sawicki was talking about social benefits,” Zalewski said perversely.
No more handouts? What does Hołownia mean?
Shortly after the announcement of the exit poll results, Szymon Hołownia said that the quarrels and handouts will end in Poland. Paweł Zalewski, who asked whether we can expect a continuation of benefits such as 800 plus after a possible change of government, indicated that this would be a topic of discussion after the coalition is concluded.
Our approach is well known. We say that state aid must be effective for those who really need it. However, we believe that a certain emphasis in state policy should be shifted from the redistribution of income to investments, because in the end we will all benefit from investments and Poland will develop.
– said Zalewski.
What about the promise that “what is given shall not be taken away”?
When asked whether this did not contradict the words of the head of PSL, one of the leaders of the Third Way, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, that “what is given will not be taken away”, the Poland 2050 policy, he replied that “at the same time he said that 800 plus for working people.
This corresponds to our concept, Poland 2050, of investing and not giving away. I repeat: we have a very low unemployment rate and those who want to can really find a job
– added.
The PAP journalist who conducted the interview noted that PSL’s Marek Sawicki emphasized that there would be no changes to social benefits.
I would like to remind you that when PiS introduced 500 plus, I understand that 800 plus is its continuation, and said that it is not a social benefit. And Marek Sawicki talked about social benefits
– replied Zalewski.
We can certainly expect this to be discussed in the coalition
– added.
Those who really need it will receive effective state support. Those who want to work and build their future. Anyway, let’s face it: today we have a very high minimum wage. It’s not the same as it used to be. This is also the result of the PiS government, which means that today you can still find a job despite the high minimum wage
– said the politician.
No handouts, but investments and effective help for those who really need it
– he emphasized.
He pointed out that during discussions about benefits and the implementation of election promises, it is necessary to accurately determine the state of public finances.
We need to check what the state of the budget is. We know he has terrible debts. A serious party, a serious political environment, must first learn about the state of state finances
– he said.
Will they abolish “thirteen” and “fourteen”?
On Tuesday on Radio ZET, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was asked whether the new government would resign its 13th and 14th members after taking over. He replied that a tax-free pension would be introduced. Meanwhile, Krzysztof Gawkowski assured that the New Left would not agree to the liquidation of the 13th and 14th pensions.
Zalewski pointed out that his group has an idea about how we can make pensions decent.
We are aware that retirees are one of the financially weakest social groups. We know this is a problem, but let us not forget that no thirteenth or fourteenth pension has been able to compensate for the losses suffered by pensioners as a result of inflation. Therefore, we will certainly adopt solutions that are beneficial to retirees
– said the MP.
Our goal will certainly be to ensure that retirees benefit from this change and do not lose out
– he declared.
It therefore appears that the opposition, which wants to take power in Poland, is not only putting an end to some of its campaign promises, but also breaking its previous statement that “what is given will not be taken away.”
-Are they already planning? Rafał Bochenek warns: “And this is how the basis for withdrawing from the 500+ and 800+ programs begins…”
– Promises from the opposition? Petru managed to be honest after the elections. “A compromise must be found”; “Finances can limit your ability to…”
— He and Tusk raised the retirement age, and now he will abolish social programs? PSL head: Let’s say enough about handing out money
– And everything clear! Will Third Road take away 800+? Hołownia admits: we will have to seriously consider this
