Washington advised American citizens not to visit Lebanon and allowed some employees of the US Embassy in Beirut to leave the country. This was reported by TASSCiting a statement from the US State Department.
In the statement, it was stated that due to the “unforeseen security situation”, it was decided to allow the family members of US employees and some of the employees of the American embassy in Beirut to voluntarily leave the country temporarily. It is emphasized that only employees who are not performing emergency duties are allowed to leave.
The State Department also advised U.S. citizens to avoid visiting Lebanon due to mutual attacks between Israel and the Shiite Hezbollah movement.
