– said General Kukuła, addressing those gathered in the square in front of the General Command.
According to the command’s information, the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army thanked the commanders of the units directly subordinate to him.
The strength of leadership I have found in you bodes well for the functioning of our armed forces
– Kukuła noted.
Professionalism and commitment
General Sokołowski – as reported by DGRSZ – congratulated General Kukula on accepting a new position.
As I assume the duties of the General Commander of the Armed Forces, I would like to assure you that with full professionalism and dedication, as before, we will carry out the jointly entrusted tasks in accordance with the intended purpose for the benefit of the Polish Armed Forces.

A week ago, the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Rajmund Andrzejczak, and the Operational Commander of the Armed Forces, General Tomasz Piotrowski, ended their working relationship. On October 10, President Andrzej Duda dismissed them from their positions and appointed General Wiesław Kukuła as Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, and General Maciej Klisz as Operational Commander of the Armed Forces.
On October 11, the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced that General Marek Sokołowski would temporarily act as general commander, and Colonel Krzysztof Stańczyk as WOT commander.
