Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky admitted that the continuation of the grain corridor is important for the country to make a profit and use this money to keep the national army afloat. The head of state stated this during a briefing following his meeting with Dutch Acting Prime Minister Mark Rutte. TASS.
He noted that Kiev is grateful for all the assistance provided by foreign partners. However, according to the president, the salaries of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are fully financed by the country’s government.
Answering a relevant question from journalists, Zelensky emphasized, “Therefore, in order for the economy to survive, we need to find this money somewhere, we need to produce it somehow, and grain is very important.”
As the president stated, Kiev does not want to limit exports only to food products. He also pointed out the need to strengthen protection for the alternative grain corridor in the Black Sea.
Especially according to the Ukrainian leader, for this it is necessary to start insuring ships and organize a convoy. According to Zelensky, the country expects to do all this with the support of Western states.
