We will extend the temporary controls at the border with Slovakia for another 20 days, until November 2, the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, Mariusz Kamiński, said on Polish radio channel Een. He stressed that the actions taken so far have shown that the matter is serious. He assured that “there will be no illegal migration routes through Poland.”
Controls at the border with Slovakia expanded
Tomorrow the first period for which temporary controls were introduced at the border with Slovakia ends
– said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration, Mariusz Kamiński, on Polish Radio One.
Today we announce that the temporary control will be extended until November 2. This is in accordance with the Schengen Code. This is the procedure. Today we will also inform the European Commission that we are entering the second phase and extending the temporary control. There are good results, there are clear effects. There will be no illegal migration routes through Poland
– said Kamiński.

Inspections deliver results
He emphasized that these inspections showed the extent of the phenomenon.
After the decision was formally implemented, we started intensive inspections. We have uncovered approximately 550 illegal immigrants. This has shown us that the matter is serious and that this Balkan route, one of its branches, is actually functioning
– indicated the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration.
He noted that 156 immigrants have been arrested in recent days alone, and Polish agents have checked about 30,000. vehicles, mainly buses and coaches, because large numbers of immigrants were transported to Western Europe in this way.
We have introduced a temporary control. Following our example, the Czech services also introduced temporary controls at the border with Slovakia. There, the number of reported immigrants increased by as much as 100 percent compared to last year, so it was an effective route. It seems that we have been blocking this route for some time, just as we have actually blocked the Belarusian route, which was never actually built, despite the intentions of Lukashenko and Putin (…) According to our information, illegal smugglers are now targeting Austria, so I think that the Austrian authorities must mobilize and effectively block this movement of immigrants, including from Austria
– said Kaminski.
Neutralization of Belarusian and Russian spies
The minister also said that a “counterintelligence summary of the past years” has been prepared and that “the numbers are simple when it comes to eight years of our rule.”
46 Russian and Belarusian spies were arrested and 55 spies who were under diplomatic cover in our country and enjoyed diplomatic immunity were deported. That is, the number of spies neutralized amounts to 101, of which 46 were arrested. As for our predecessors, for eight years they held eleven spies and expelled seven, that is, 101 to 18, you might say.
– said Mariusz Kamiński in “Sygnały Dzień” PR1.
Agreement between the Polish services and the FSB
The minister also referred to the findings from the ‘Reset’ series, which recalled that the Military Counterintelligence Service began cooperating with the Russian Federal Security Service after April 10, 2010. Since the beginning of 2011, entries of representatives of the FSB (the successor to the KGB) into the headquarters of the Polish Counterintelligence Service have been recorded.
As highlighted, this took place long before the Polish and Russian counterintelligence services signed an agreement on cooperation in military counterintelligence in St. Petersburg in September 2013.
Interestingly, after signing the agreement, the intensity of the meetings decreased: only eleven were held, five of them after the annexation of Crimea in February 2014.
– emphasized.
The program informed that official visits of the FSB to the Military Counterintelligence Service have been recorded in the entry and exit book of this institution since January 2011.
Meetings are held several times a month: they continued in 2011, until on October 17, General Janusz Nosek officially asked Donald Tusk for permission to establish cooperation.
– it was written.
It was added that two more years had passed before the contract was signed in September 2013, and during this period representatives of the Russian secret services came to the SKW once a week, sometimes more often. After signing this agreement, the meetings continued until the end of 2014; the last one was recorded on December 30 this year.
This is shocking. This is shocking because the essence of this agreement is unprecedented and I am convinced that no self-respecting country, and certainly no NATO member, could sign such an agreement. Article 2 point B said that the Polish services are committed to combating the activities of other secret services in Russia. Subversive and intelligence activities, i.e. activities aimed at the Russian Federation and the Polish services, have committed themselves without any restriction that this does not apply, for example, to NATO countries
– Minister Kamiński noted.

As announced by the Minister, the draft amending the regulation of the Ministry of the Interior and Administrative Affairs on the temporary restoration of border control of persons crossing the state border constituting the internal border was published on Thursday. It is assumed that “border control of persons will be temporarily restored for the period referred to in Article 1, and will be extended for the period from October 14, 2023 to November 2, 2023.
Controls at the border with Slovakia will take effect from midnight on Wednesday, October 4. The border can be crossed via 8 road and 3 railway crossings and 11 pedestrian crossings, but in other places this is not allowed – for example, on mountain trails in the Tatra Mountains.
The aim of introducing border controls is to prevent illegal migration from the Balkan route. Upon entering Poland, your ID or passport will be checked.
