The Jewish-Palestinian war is one of those conflicts in which it is impossible to identify the good guys and the bad guys, the victims and the executioners. Let’s not get caught up in a silly rollercoaster of emotions. This is not our war, a cause that has never been ours. Let’s stay away from her.
“People, what worries do we actually have in this world? How do we worry about Nicaragua every day, how do we live about El Salvador?! We were so tense that we actually hadn’t won the Rhodesian elections for two years! What concerns do we have about these inciting conflicts, these sparks? – Jan Pietrzak used to say in Kabaret pod Egida, when he rightly joked about the fact that propaganda forces ordinary people to constantly experience the political situation, even in places where it should not worry us so much.
But politics and propaganda have their own rules, both in real socialism and in democracy. The violent exchange of blows between Jews and Palestinians in Israel is certainly a topic that draws the attention of many political observers and ordinary diners. What is happening in this country, the ongoing war between two nations that hate each other, occupied countries and occupiers, terrorists and counter-terrorists, has been a staple of news broadcasts for decades. Somehow this replaces what actually seems to be of vital importance to the Poles: the course of the Ukrainian war and its consequences.
In the Polish People’s Republic, propaganda supported the construction of Israel, only to then violently combat it for decades as a branch of American imperialism and itself linked to the Soviet bandwagon that supported Egypt, Iraq, Syria and Arab nationalism. All this, as we know from history, was sharply divided among the elite of communist Poland, some of whom sympathized with the Jewish state because of their origins. During the time of the so-called During the Third Polish Republic, even friendships, special relations and relations with Israel were proclaimed.
Israel is part of the Western world, an ally of America with whom unique and extraordinary military-political relations have been developed. It is a nationalist stronghold in the Middle East that is armed to the teeth. Using a specific type of historical policy that elevated the Jews to the status of a nation of eternal, innocent victims, and turned their persecutors into eternally responsible torturers, with the blame falling on subsequent generations. We too often belong to this group, because the horror of anti-Semitism is a powerful weapon. Israel has done Poland a great disservice in recent years because the accusatory tone from this country is heard more than the most sincere and rational words of defense and truth spoken from Warsaw.
Jews today are a ruthless occupier, who once had the status of victims. However, the roles have changed and Palestine has become a victim of Jewish messianism and their interests, but also the mecca of terrorism. It is part of a culturally alien world to us. Things have been happening in this region for decades, the course of which, full of contradictions, conflicts, alliances and wars, is only understandable to specialists. And of course it’s worth listening to them. In which, however, it is impossible to identify the good and the bad, the victims and the executioners. Let’s not get caught up in a silly rollercoaster of emotions. This is not our war, not our conflict, this is a cause that has never been ours and let us stay away from it. After all, this is another good reason to protect Poland from destabilization, weaknesses, internal conflicts and their leaders.
