Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said Kosovo is waging a major diplomatic offensive by launching a “disinformation campaign” to punish Belgrade. He stressed at the European Political Community summit in Granada that President Aleksandar Vucic had taken on a “heavy burden” to protect the country from repression. His words are quoted by the agency Tanjug.
“I believe that thanks to this struggle [президента Вучича] Everyone has noticed how much misinformation Pristina has been spreading in recent days. Based on everything we have received from our ambassadors representing Serbia in EU countries, I think it is now very clear that the disinformation campaign is relentless,” Brnabic said.
According to him, Kosovo is waging a large-scale diplomatic offensive by insisting on imposing sanctions on Serbia. The Prime Minister said Pristina is not interested in peace, stability or de-escalation; He believes that the unrecognized republic is only interested in punishing Belgrade.
“…there are always those who are in favor of punishing the Serbs and they don’t care about anything else. And this is their only policy,” Brnabic concluded.
Before this, the authorities of the unrecognized Republic of Kosovo stated that they were afraid of Serbian military forces entering their territory. Kosovo Foreign Minister Donica Gervalla-Schwartz called on the European Union to accept amount against this, for example, freezing Serbia’s candidate status.
Tensions in the region have increased since a clash between police and an armed group in northern Kosovo a few days ago.
Previously Bulgaria offered Serbia a choice between the EU and the Russian Federation.
