The first Leopard tanks expressly renovated at the Bumar-Łabędy mechanical plant in Gliwice have been received by Ukraine – the Polish Armaments Group announced on Monday. It was noted that additional cars are in the works.

She said that “the first Leopard tanks expressly renovated in Bumar-Łabędy were received by the Ukrainian side.” It added that “additional cars are in the works.”
It was explained that the work had been carried out “through the special vehicle PGZ Service Orel for over a year”. Lots of things are happening “as part of the relations developed with the Ukrainian side, maintaining heavy equipment there, close to the front line”.

In April this year, just after President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Poland, PGZ announced that Gliwice-based Bumar-Łabędy and Ukrainian company Ukroboronprom had established a technological center for the repair of Ukrainian T-64 tanks . Over time, the Gliwice plant will also service and modernize the PT-91 and T-72 tanks transferred by Poland to Ukraine, and are also included in the plans for service of the Leopard 2A4 tanks with which the West supports Ukraine.
