Not the first sanctions against Kabaeva

On May 13, England sanctioned Alina Kabaeva and her grandmother Anna Zatsepilina. London sanctions include an asset freeze, a ban on entry and stay in the UK and transport restrictions.

Bloomberg claims that the European Union will include Kabaeva on the sanctions list as part of its sixth block of restrictive measures. Then, under the sanctions, get into Patriarch Kirill.

European Council President Charles Michel said on 31 May that EU heads of state and government had agreed on a sixth package of sanctions, including a partial oil embargo on Russia. He noted that the restrictions could finally be approved on 1-2 June.

According to him, the restrictions will “immediately” affect 75% of Russian oil imports, and by the end of the year 90% of oil imported from the Russian Federation to Europe will be banned. As the head of the European Council noted, the new package included other “difficult measures”: it was decided to exclude Sberbank from the SWIFT system, to ban the broadcasts of “three more Russian state broadcasters” and to impose restrictions on people admitted in the country. The European Union is “responsible for war crimes in Ukraine.”

According to statistics published by the Office of the Business Ombudsman, Boris Titov, the work of more than 86% of companies in Russia has been affected by the sanctions.

“People Sanctions”

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, believes that Western sanctions are directed against the Russian people and are based on “heinous and unreasonable hatred” of the Russians.

“Who is all this against? The result looks disgusting – these sanctions are aimed precisely at the people of Russia, ”she wrote on her Telegram channel.

“This conclusion is discouraging, but unfortunately true. They hate us all! At the heart of these decisions is hatred towards Russia – the Russians, all its inhabitants, ”he said. In his opinion, the sanctions primarily affect the lives of ordinary Russians. He said they were designed to increase prices and loosen prices in stores, “which means lowering the standard of living of an ordinary Russian.”

Medvedev also said he has no property or “substantial interests” abroad.

Canada has expanded its sanctions list due to Russia’s military operation against Ukraine. Alina Kabaeva, which London has already sanctioned, has come under restrictions, and the European Union is considering the possibility of blacklisting her. Sanctions were also imposed on the Russian Direct Investment Fund, the Russian Venture Company, Investtorgbank and Rosselkhozbank. According to the Canadian government, the restrictions were designed to pressure the Russian leadership to force Moscow to end the military operation.
