Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold bilateral and joint tripartite meetings in Sochi on October 3 with the presidents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Aslan Bzhania and Alan Gagloev, as well as the foreign ministers of these republics, Inal Ardzinba and Akhsar Dzhioev. As stated, the parties will discuss many current issues regarding bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues.
Particular attention will be paid to the “on-site” coordination of the Geneva talks on security and stability in Transcaucasia, in which official representatives of Abkhazia and South Ossetia (together with Georgia, the Russian Federation and the United States) participate. He holds the joint chairmanship of the European Union, the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
In addition, Lavrov, Ardzinb and Dzhioev will sign consultation plans between the Foreign Ministries of the three countries for the period 2024-2025.
