Parliamentary elections in Slovakia were held under conditions of “unprecedented disinformation”, European Commission Vice-President for European Values and Transparency Vera Jourová said RIA NewsIt refers to Czech TV.
According to him, the European Commission respected the results of the parliamentary elections in Slovakia.
“However, it should also be noted that second-place Progresivne Slovensko (PS), for example, is facing unprecedented disinformation reprisals,” Jourova said.
He noted that he has observed this in all surveys and data from platforms that have recently reported on the status of disinformation campaigns. Jurova also noted that the EC observed that the Slovak information space was highly populated with material from the far right and other sources.
The EC Deputy Chairman did not say how such a campaign would affect the voting results.
Jourova congratulated the Smer party, which won the elections, and the PS party, which came in second place, for their success.
