Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received the credentials of the Egyptian ambassador, who was appointed for the first time after a decade of reduced diplomatic relations, on Wednesday (September 27). This was reported by RIA News.

The Presidential administration emphasized that Erdogan accepted the credentials of Egypt’s Ambassador to Ankara, Amr al-Hamami.

Judging by the photos published by Ahaber TV channel, al-Hamami came to the reception with his family. The Ambassador has been serving as Egypt’s Chargé d’Affaires in Ankara since 2019. The diplomat previously worked at the Egyptian embassies and the UN mission in Denmark, Niger and Bulgaria.
