Today we are at a turning point. Today, three weeks before the elections, the fate of Poles in this part of the world will be decided again, PO Chairman Donald Tusk said on Monday during a meeting with the residents of Otwock (Mazovia Voivodeship).
Back then, when Poland regained its independence, Polish women and men fought for freedom. One of those dreams was the return of Poland to the great community of the West, to this great civilization of which we as a nation are a part. -creators, of which we have been deprived by bad fate and bad stories and to which civilization we have returned with full rights. Today we are in the European Union. I want to tell you, I mean it very seriously, this is not about some meeting, some propaganda, we are at a turning point today. I would like all Poles to know what is happening these weeks and days
– Tusk said during a meeting with the residents of Otwock.
He added that “we wanted to be in Europe because there was a lot of money for the development of Poland, because it was a great, beautiful continent of free people without borders, where everyone could travel freely without any checks, because it was a continent where countries were ruled by law, and not by some cruel power.”
I want to tell you that today, three weeks before the elections, the fate of Poland in this part of the world will once again be decided. If you think about it, what the government has prepared for us, what this government has prepared for us, is that we are still formally in the European Union, but they have deprived us of money from the EU. Soon they might close our border, PiS might close our borders and then we will be closed, isolated and lonely again. They have robbed us of rights, of independent courts, and of the kind of authority that is accountable to people, not governs people. In fact, they have already taken Europe from us. We can get it back on October 15th. This is really one of those tasks, one of the most important tasks
– appoints the PO chairman.
Addressing voters, he said: “It’s in your hands, let’s not let them turn history back to its saddest pages.”
We live in a special moment, dangerous and full of hope. We don’t want to be alone, we have no reason to be alone. We have every opportunity and right to be a rich nation, developing more and more, free people, without borders, with a sense of freedom, our own dignity, our own worth. This, among other things, is what is at stake, so I ask everyone: I am ready to beg you for everything, let us not leave this fate in their hands, because we will all be winners of these elections, or victims of these defeat. .
– he emphasized.
Tusk also argued that the government doesn’t care about… agents at the border.
PiS sent these people to the border for thankless, harsh service. Sometimes they have to follow orders that are so inhumane, and we know that well, because we hear from them that they often suffer from this. They send soldiers there, who have to buy food in Biedronka and wash their uniforms themselves. Who insults the Polish uniform? This power exposes soldiers, guards and police officers to such borderline situations that are sometimes very difficult to bear
– argued the PO leader.
“Negative Emotions”
I am convinced that they will lose these elections, because it is impossible to win elections solely on the basis of negative emotions, PO Deputy Chairman Rafał Trzaskowski said on Monday during an election rally in Otwock.
On Monday, during the PO election meeting in Otwock (Mazovia Voivodeship), Rafał Trzaskowski stated that “in recent weeks, those in power have not proposed anything about the future.”
They don’t want to have any conversation about what is important to us: healthcare, education or psychology for young children. They are not talking about European opportunities. They just evoke the worst emotions you can imagine, they just piss on someone all the time
– said the vice-chairman of the PO.
He pointed out that – according to the definition – the right wing is attached to tradition.
Why can’t these be our best traditions that we as Poles are proud of? We have these wonderful traditions of openness, tolerance and this incredible solidarity. Why can’t we refer to these good traditions? Why do those in power today try to arouse the worst possible emotions and take us back to those moments in Polish history that we cannot be proud of, to the times of deep communism or the times just before the war and certain aspects of the political debate would that be heard? Why can’t we try to have a normal conversation about the future and use arguments?
– Trzaskowski asked.
As he noted, “I am convinced they will lose these elections because it is impossible to win elections based on negative emotions alone.”
This is what I encourage you to do: (…) to think about what really matters most? Do they want a normal conversation or do they want a shouting match? Do they want to talk about the future or talk to people who only look back and have nothing to offer?
– Trzaskowski appealed.
