When we first heard about it, we were skeptical. Because can the opposition leader’s plan be so cynical? However, subsequent conversations with people who were very familiar with the Platform’s affairs and close to the chairman and management provided confirmation.
According to our sources in PO, Tusk already has a sentence in his head that – if he wins – will revoke all his promises. It is well known among the PO leadership circles.
Sounds simple:
I found the situation much worse than I thought. Therefore, all plans must be put aside. Drastic savings are necessary
– these are more or less the words that Tusk intends to say according to our interlocutors withdraw from all election promises. One of our informants even said that Tusk is “already practicing” such a speech to open a possible government. But that could be a metaphor.
However, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that this is the way things are. A campaign full of promises, and then another “shock therapy”based on strong but unfounded claims about an existing catastrophe.
Radical cuts relate not only to their own announcements, but also to pro-family and social programs introduced by the Law and Justice governments. There is talk of ‘suspending’ the 13th and 14th pensions, limiting 800 Plus for the poorest, and abolishing most allowances for families. Occasionally, PO MPs talk about it, even though they are silenced “for the good of the campaign”.
The so-called “disaster” argument should also be used to block important investments hated by the opposition, such as CPK, building a strong army, investments in nuclear energy and petrochemicals. In other words: full reverse, full brake.
Such an approach after the elections will of course also open the door to implementation “Bogusław Grabowski’s Plan”which an economist close to PO announced sale not only strategic companies, but also ports, roads and airports.
Will this happen? It depends on the voters, but the above information explains why the PO leader is so keen to make a higher bid on every issue. Now, as in the years 2007-2015, he clearly has no intention of keeping his words.
