I compare this picture with the forums of smugglers and migrants, which I have been observing for about two years, and this directly migrant view of the matter seems much more interesting to me. However, it cannot be said that the film is poorly made, because no, it is made efficiently and only obtrusively. Ie the characters were very expressive here, you immediately know who is good and who is bad, the newcomers are good, the Polish services are bad and some Polish residents, the simple ones, i.e. peasants, because the activists and the psychologist are good, they behave themselves like angels, do not take care of themselves at all and show moral superiority over the services at every contact. The film is based on the moral superiority of the newcomers and activists. That’s the difference with us, simple souls. A Muslim can pray in the forest, spread a cloth towards Mecca, kneel, bow to Allah, and this is his culture, religion, roots, while Polish officers can beat a defenseless girl in a room where there is a cross and the Polish emblem on it the wall. The Border Guard in this film is not about being brutal, but simply disgusting and primitive. However, the deportation process itself also has its horror, because the border guard cars in this film are old cars in which people are loaded and transported, always at night to gloomy climes. I return to the subject of the disgusting SG, because this is very strongly depicted in the film. Training of agents carried out by some idiot with a nasty smile on his face says that “he has arranged a psychologist for the officers, so if anyone has any problems they can make an appointment with her for hours hahahaha.” Here we are also talking about the corpses of migrants, even if they were there, they would they are not allowed to be there. Another scene, in the store. The officers are cheerful after work, one asks the other what he wants to buy, and the question is answered by the friend of the interrogated: “rubbers, he is just ashamed.” And here there is a scene with the psychologist Julka and a pregnant woman, the wife of one of the guards, Julka scolds the officers to let you pass and a conversation ensues in which the officer’s wife apparently finally felt her inferiority , because after all, her husband takes people outside the barbed wire. I won’t mention the scene with the thermos, which was deliberately broken by a border guard and given to a migrant so he could choke on the glass. Of course there is also throwing the body over the wire, to the Belarusian side, jumping up, throwing for three, but first of course the sign of the cross

According to Klara Maria, unlike Border Guards, the film presents activists who support illegal immigrants in an undeniably positive way.
Such nice eternal residents of alternate worlds, anarchism at heart, even at home they wear a pair of sweatshirts and a hat, but they have knowledge about refugee rights, they know the rules and apply them in the name of moral superiority. To make sure we don’t have any doubt about who is good and who is bad here, there is no room for doubt, but just in case, a man who runs a successful towing company called to visit psychologist Julka, whose car was destroyed (yes, yes, for helping migrants) does not hesitate to transport newcomers hidden in a car on a tow truck. So it’s like this: if a man’s heart is on the left side, he knows what to do, on the right side, and the rules are confused because they have to transport young boys from the Congo to young Stuhr’s house. And the transfer succeeds, the boys end up in a villa with a jacuzzi and a lavishly set long table, but since they come from a former French colony, they speak French and it is a funny scene. Because the children of these Stuhrs sit at the table with their parents and migrants, white tablecloth, sumptuous food, real elegance and the conversation with the blacks from the forest takes place in the language “roll on paper”, in French

It was a cool move, a bit of a farce, and a bit of a show of the superiority of the newcomers, who in Europe may communicate better than many Poles. They chose the French song “to die 1000 times” and that’s where I thought the film would end, on such a humanitarian, I would say, note. But no, because there is an epilogue

The epilogue is that the caring border guard guides refugees from Ukraine through border crossings. Children are picked up, comforted when they cry and parents are guided with their children to the correct buses. Among the caring agents is also Janek, that of his pregnant wife and of the metamorphosis. With the utmost tenderness he holds a Ukrainian child in his mother’s arms, and his Polish friend, seeing this devotion, says maliciously: “Too bad you weren’t so sensitive on the Belarusian border.” “I wasn’t there,” is the answer. This is what it looks like, ladies and gentlemen. Don’t be fooled into thinking that it’s about showing people in end situations, before life’s most difficult choices, and giving you space for reflection. This space doesn’t exist and no one cares what you think. The “green border” tells you what to think

Polishness, with its antiquity, locality, tradition and religion, is to be despised. More than one scene in the film is reminiscent of World War II, with Jews being hidden, families separated before deportation, crying children wanting to go home to their mothers, only to be taken by cops and all of you to Belarus, behind the barbed wire , being thrown to the ground; psychologist Julka says Our Father when the officer doesn’t want to believe she is Polish. At the very end of the prayer it rains. “Okay, fuck off…”, “Fuck off…” Julka replies, somewhere around the words “and forgive us our sins.” We are supposed to realize our moral inferiority and the mentality of blackmailers, but Janek’s attitude shows that there is always a chance for change and that we can still join the beautiful ghosts who hand out soup to the newcomers. We should despise the entire concept of border defense, as well as the officers who carry out this work. And there really is space here: we can be Janek or a security guard throwing a cracked thermos at a thirsty person. Faced with such a choice, let’s not forget that glass thermoses have been missing for a long time
