This is a waste of time for Warsaw – this is how Rafał Trzaskowski’s five-year mayoralty in the city was assessed by the chairman of the PiS councilors’ club in the Capital Council, Dariusz Figura.
The president’s key promises from five years ago have not been fulfilled
— Dariusz Figura told PAP.
The first chapter of his program is crucial: the largest investments for Warsaw. Of the 21 or 22 items, one was implemented. This is an investment disaster for the city
– said the PiS councilor.
Unfortunately, I think this is a waste of time for Warsaw
– he emphasized.
He pointed out that the city is spending less on investments than during Mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz’s first term.
At the same time, a radical change has occurred in the city’s transportation policy: instead of building new streets, we narrowed them, and instead of new parking spaces we eliminated parking spaces.
– He told PAP.
Instead of increasing the pace of road investment, we have a 90% TEMPO 30 zone. city area
– he said.
A tragedy for Warsaw
He said it was a tragedy for such a big and busy city as Warsaw.
This is a tragedy, not only in terms of traffic jams, but also in terms of air pollution
– he pointed.
According to Figura, President Trzaskowski is also known for shutting down debate.
He only talks to people he agrees with. An example of this is the suspension of the discussion on the municipal referendum, but there are many such examples
– he pointed out.
Only all left-wing organizations listen to Trzaskowski, while the discussion about the city’s sustainable policy is always stopped
– the head of the PiS councilors in the city council told PAP.
Rafał Trzaskowski became president of the capital in October 2018. The five-year term of office of local governments has been extended by law until April 30, 2024.
