During his speech in Piła, Donald Tusk called the German occupation and division “influenced by Western culture.” It is not the first time that Tusk has insulted and divided Poland, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Friday.
According to media reports, the PO leader said during a meeting with residents of Piła that there are “certain features that are so appreciated in Pomerania, in Greater Poland, because we were more influenced by Western culture.”
They may call me German, but I want to win these elections and I am going for victory, so that there will finally be a fundamental order in foreign, European and economic policy, in the tax system and the judiciary.
– he said.

“Mr. Tusk, it is time to apologize to the Poles
The head of government responded to Donald Tusk’s words on social media.
During his speech yesterday in Piła, Donald Tusk called the German occupation and division “influenced by Western culture”. It is not the first time that Tusk has insulted Poland – dividing them into Poland A and Poland B; better and worse; those from the east and those from the west
– the Prime Minister pointed out.
According to him, only those in the West (or even those who voted for the Civic Platform) deserve development and respect. Those in the east earn nothing. Therefore, he marked the country’s defense line on the Vistula River. This is Tusk’s line of betrayal – because it is a betrayal of the inhabitants of the entire eastern part of Poland
– said Morawiecki.
The Prime Minister expressed the hope that “the scandalous words are just another bad provocation – like those of his colleague Janusz Palikot.”
It is difficult to imagine that a Pole could talk about introducing German orders into a country where there are still eyewitnesses to the brutal Germanization attempt that left such deep and lasting scars. Calling it ‘the influence of Western culture’ is a word unworthy of even the greatest cynic!
– he said.
Mr. Tusk, it is time to apologize to the Poles
– added the head of government.
