Polish-Ukrainian relations can still be put on the right track, but we must be firm in certain decisions, Paweł Kukiz, leader of Kukiz’15, said on TVP1. He assessed that Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky may be a “hostage of the oligarchs”, in whose hands the most important grain companies in Ukraine are located.
The EC has not extended the embargo on Ukrainian grain for five countries – Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Romania. Following the European Commission’s decision, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary extended the import ban on agricultural products from Ukraine.
On September 18, authorities in Kiev announced that they had filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against Poland, Hungary and Slovakia in connection with these countries’ extension of the embargo on Ukrainian agricultural products. On September 19, Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Taras Kaczka indicated in an interview with “Rzeczpospolita” that Ukraine would introduce an embargo on Polish onions, tomatoes, cabbage and apples within a few days.
Relationships that need repairing?
Paweł Kukiz, who will run for the Sejm from the United Right list, when asked about Polish-Ukrainian relations, said that “everything can still be put on the right track.”
But to put these Polish-Ukrainian relations on the right track, we must be firm in certain decisions. Please note that the main grain companies in Ukraine have 600-700 thousand hectares, most of them pay taxes in Cyprus and Luxembourg. This money does not stay in Ukraine, but in the pockets of the oligarchs. Maybe (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky is a hostage of these oligarchs
– said Kukiz.
Raising topics
According to him, the problems in Ukraine will start when the war is over.
This is a very corrupt country. For the time being it is consolidated because it has an external enemy, and God forbid they will win the Russians, but they will have a huge problem, Europe too, us, with the scale of corruption in Ukraine, these oligarchs
– said the politician.
He added that he drew the government’s attention to the need for “reliable verification of men staying in Poland, while their peers are losing their lives in Bakhmut, Donetsk, Donbas, and they are here in cars, so that neither you nor I can do that.” to afford.”
Kukiz was also asked about the words of the President of Ukraine during the session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
We have launched a temporary maritime export corridor from our ports. We are working hard to maintain land routes for grain exports. And it is disturbing how some in Europe, some of our friends in Europe, express their solidarity in the political theater by making a thriller with grain. It may seem like they are playing their own role, but in reality they are helping to set the stage for the Moscow actor
Zelensky said this on September 19 in New York.
The leader of Kukiz’15 noted that Zelensky did not mention Poland in this statement, although he probably had our country in mind. He added that he disagreed with “the generally accepted idea that there is a war, so let’s not go into many topics.”
No, precisely because there is a war, many topics need to be discussed. For example, the subject of Volhynia. Let us say this: we will support you in your quest to join NATO because we benefit from it too, but – if you do not allow us to bury our ancestors with dignity – we will not support you as a candidate for EU, because it is a community of countries based on Western culture. , Christian
– said Kukiz.
