Former Hungarian Minister of Justice Judit Varga accused the European Union (EU) of blackmailing countries that deviate from the general policy line of the organization. He stated this in an interview newspaper Hand Discussion.

“There is a double standard in Hungary due to a strong national conservative government with a strong vision on the issues that really matter. We are Europeans but we have different views and those who do not follow the main line in the EU are subject to blackmail,” Varga said.

According to him, Hungary should not have to suffer the consequences of other EU countries’ migration policies based on the “open door” principle. Varga said Hungary wants to prevent Europe from turning into a Muslim continent and is ready to stop the flow of immigrants.

Peter Szijjártó, formerly Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations said About double standards in the European Union, due to which the EU treats the same actions differently in terms of Western and Central European countries.

Previously Hungary said the world expected a change in the EU’s stance on Ukraine.
