Asked by the newspaper whether Washington believed the UN Security Council was no longer fit for purpose, Kirby said that from the White House’s perspective, the Security Council needed to be “more inclusive and comprehensive.” Biden in particular and the United States in general will support the inclusion of more states in the Security Council.
