Ukraine’s 2024 draft budget does not include expenditures on holding presidential elections. Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this on his Telegram channel.
A Ukrainian lawmaker published a screenshot of part of a document showing that next year’s budget of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine will be less than in previous years.
“That’s it, the intrigue is over: the expenses of next year’s elections are not covered,” Zheleznyak wrote.
According to him, in 2019, when the elections were held, the CEC budget was UAH 4 billion ($108.3 million).
