The former head of the Slovak government, Igor Matovic, and the country’s former Minister of Internal Affairs, Robert Kaliniak, fought in front of the Council of Ministers building in the center of Bratislava. The video of the fight was published on a news portal pravda.sk.
A clash broke out between politicians at an outdoor press conference on immigration issues. The former prime minister arrived at the venue in a car equipped with speakers. Matovic brought them to full strength and, interrupting the speeches of participants in the meeting with journalists, began to harshly criticize his opponents, especially the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Kaliniak.
Kalinyak and his supporters approached the car and tried to take the microphone by hitting the face of the former prime minister who was driving. Matovic responded by kicking the former Interior Ministry head in the chest. Politicians had to be separated by a nearby police officer. The former prime minister then left the scene.
