Jakub Dymek suggested on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that a possible major victory for Law and Justice would be related to “institutional advantages in the current electoral system.” PiS Member of the European Parliament and head of the party’s election campaign, Joachim Brudziński, responded to the journalist’s submission.
Dymek posted four messages on social media about the October election.
Unpopular opinion: If PiS wins the October elections significantly, it will not be for programmatic reasons, but because of two institutional advantages in the current electoral system that work in the government’s favor:
1) It is the creation of several thousand electoral commissions in rural areas, the organization of districts and the ‘voting power’ in metropolises and beyond. The electoral system, which is increasingly modeled on the US, is designed to favor specific regions. Omitting the census. and the number of seats in the districts is a Polish ‘gerrymandering’ of power.
(In principle I support increasing turnout in rural areas and universal voting facilities – but their introduction to the advantage of those in power, even in an election year, always raises justified suspicions of manipulation. They should be introduced from the next term, for example).
2) Financial benefit, allowing a large-scale targeting campaign on the Internet (expenses many times higher than those of other committees). The government is using both good relations with internet companies and the funds of state-owned companies for an uneven campaign

Joachim Brudziński, head of the PiS election campaign, responded to his message.
The “rationalization” of the possible loss of KO begins. The most dangerous thing for us would be to regard these ‘prophecies’ and speculations as certain. As #PJK said, only the hard and humble work of our candidates, thousands of meetings and ‘scratching the grass’ can give us victory. Opinion polls and speculation don’t win elections. Their fear and coming up with various “explanations” for possible failures cannot put us to sleep even for a moment. Just work hard until the last day of the campaign!
– wrote Brudziński.
