The topic of the beatification of the Ulma family and the German crimes led to an extremely heated discussion in the “Clash Zone”! There was a strong exchange of views on TVP Info between Minister Przemysław Czarnek and left-wing MP Maciej Gdula. Editor Michał Karnowski also took part in this discussion.
“The Church in Poland will not be destroyed”
The Ulma family and their children were murdered by the Germans on March 24, 1944 for saving Jews. The beatification mass of Józef and Wiktoria Ulma and their seven children took place on Sunday in Markowa in Podkarpacie.
The head of MEiN, Przemysław Czarnek, was asked about the importance of this event on Sunday evening in the “Clash Zone”.
In every respect, this is absolutely a historical event, you could say, because – primarily – for religious reasons – the beatification of the entire family, the parents and all children, including the unborn child, took place. For the first time in history, an unborn child was beatified
– replied the minister.
As he also said, this is an event that shows the historical context, “the essence of Polish-Jewish relations during the Holocaust.”
A Polish family was brutally murdered by the Germans because of the inhumane pseudo-legislation that the Germans imposed on us here in Poland and they killed Poles just because they helped Jews
– said Czarnek.
Thirdly – he emphasized – ‘it is intended to demonstrate the value and sanctity of a family based on the marriage of a woman and a man, a family that has children and that actually helps others, even in times of incredible poverty, despite housing conditions. that we can’t even deal with.” imagine.”
After all, they lived in a small room and had eight Jews in the attic; and they had these eight Jews not for two days, but (…) for more than two years
– emphasized Czarnek.
And finally, this is indeed an event that once again demonstrates the incredible power of the Church in Poland. Almost 40 thousand people in a small town in Podkarpacie reached there, I saw it with my own eyes when I made a pilgrimage there and it filled the square to the brim, which showed the power of the Church in Poland
– he noted, adding that this happened despite the attacks of “left and leftist centers that attack the Church almost every day, just to destroy it.”
The Church in Poland will not be destroyed because it belongs to Christ, and this has been proven today
– he said.
MP Gdula and his ‘but’
As you might expect, left-wing MP Maciej Gdula had his ‘but’.
Many of them behaved heroically, but there were also Poles who behaved shamefully. We must remember this. We must remember the Ulma family, but we must also remember what the Poles did wrong
– he said. The representative of the left also decided that today we want compensation from Germany for crimes that have not directly affected us.
Michał Karnowski: There is no ‘but’ in the case of the Ulma family
In turn, editor Michał Karnowski (“Sieci” weekly and wPolityce.pl portal) noted that the German media tried to remain silent about the beatification of the Ulma family.
They mumbled something at the end, but it wasn’t on the scale we expected
– added.
The publicist also turned to Maciej Gdula.
I don’t think there is a ‘but’ about the Ulma family. There is no ‘but’. A total of 21 Jews were saved in Markowa
– he said.
Ed. Karnowski recalled the film “The Story of One Crime” by Mariusz Pilis, which showed that the main perpetrator of the crime against the Ulma family lived in the Federal Republic of Germany as a respected citizen. As he emphasized, the beatification in Markowa is “an important element of defending the truth about Poland’s fate during the Second World War,” and the Polish underground state and all its structures stood on the side of humanity and fought against German crimes.
Why is this so disturbing?
– asked the publicist, pointing out three points.
So we don’t get paid, that’s why we have to lie. For us to pay (…). Who will defend a country that is labeled anti-Semitic and criminal and that has not yet been held accountable? (…) We, a nation that suffered so much from the first to the last day of the war, are tried to put ourselves on the bench next to German criminals, and the Germans also say that we have to be accountable for something. This is something disgusting
– he said.
““You have no idea of proportions.”
At one point in the discussion, a heated verbal clash broke out between the Minister of Education and a left-wing MP!
The difference showed! Mr. Gdula continues to practice shame pedagogy. He says ‘but’ because there was one blackmailer who was liquidated by the underground state
– said Prof. Czarnek, giving examples of the heroism of many Poles who saved Jews during the Second World War.
Hold the Germans responsible, not the Poles! You have no idea of proportions
– added.
