Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin said that the high turnout in the elections shows the desire of new residents to influence the development of the country. He wrote this in his book telegram channel.
Volodin noted that elections in accordance with Russian legislation were held for the first time in the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, which are the new constituent units of the Russian Federation. The Chairman of the State Duma emphasized that a year ago the residents of this region decided to side with Russia in the referendum. According to Volodin, today the desire to live in one country and develop together is once again confirmed. He thanked all residents for their active civic position and noted that “this obliges all of us to do a lot.”
The Chairman of the State Duma noted that Washington and Brussels did everything to prevent the elections from being held by resorting to provocations, intimidation and bombardment of the Kiev regime. However, Volodin came to the conclusion that his plans had failed.
He emphasized that the security of voters was ensured and that voting was open, fair and competitive.
