“Every populist comes to a point where his populism goes bankrupt because he has nothing left to give. And then, when there is nothing left to give, the populist reaches for a stick to protect himself from the welfare scheme, from the bankruptcy scheme. And so we see it clearly: this is the fundamental threat we face today. Every populist will sooner or later become a dictator,” said Szymon Hołownia at the Third Way Congress “Economy, forward!”, also attended by the head of PSL, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
“‘We say enough about alms’
Hołownia emphasized that the Third Way supports ending the “indebtedness of future generations.”
“‘Enough arguing’ is not just an election slogan, it is the essence of our existence in politics, it is our message, our philosophy. This is our program because we want to put an end to these political quarrels, senseless disputes that lead to nothing, the political circus that happens every now and then.
– said Hołownia.
We want to move forward and focus very much on working people. For entrepreneurs and workers, for craftsmen and farmers, for those who create their workplace even in the smallest town. We say enough about waste. We say enough about handouts. We say enough about putting future generations in debt, but we also say enough about false precepts and false prophets who come only to deceive, mislead, and then leave us with an unpaid bill. This is the task of the Third Way
– added.
Hołownia emphasized that today “it is necessary to invest in Poland
Investments need to be made in Poland today. Not only distributing to Poland, but also investing in Poland. This investment engine must be green energy. Therefore, we, the Third Way, will first address the topic of green energy. If there is no cheap green energy, there will be no reduction in inflation, no investment and no lower household bills. We must finally do this by releasing resources from the National Reconstruction Plan
he said.

The head of PSL, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in turn said, among other things: about ‘housing hunger among young people’.
Investments are also important branches of the economy. The first is energy, but the second, for example, is construction, including housing, which is currently showing poor results, at 50 percent. the number of investments decreased. There are no places where you can invest, there are no areas prepared for these investments. There are many people willing to buy an apartment and the appetite for apartments, especially among young people, is growing. (…) One of the ideas of the Third Way is to release all properties from the National Real Estate Resource
– said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
Free trade on two Sundays
During his speech, Hołownia criticized the “Safe 2% Credit” program.
It cannot be that the next ideas come from politicians, instead of supporting those who want to have an apartment, supporting developers and banks. Here is a statement from one of the largest Polish developers, who commented on one of the subsequent ideas for subsidizing loans. […] “They have found a good solution to the crisis in our industry, perhaps it is even too great a tribute to us
– said Hołownia.
They really don’t understand what they are talking about, they don’t know where apartments come from. For the past eight years they have had no idea to solve the problem of vacant buildings in Poland, to introduce a real long-term rental market available to people, also supported by the state, because what matters is that people have a place to live (…) We must put an end to the dictatorship of mortgage lending as the only solution to all pressing problems
– he continued.
Hołownia also announced that trading would be free on two Sundays a month.
Nowadays people come out and talk about a four-day work week. You’ll see, before the elections we’ll hear about a three-day work week. Poles do not want to work less, Poles want to earn more. (…) We will trade freely two Sundays a month. (…) this change will take place under our government, but it will also be subject to one condition: respect for the rights of employees who go to work on Sundays. This must be accompanied by higher pay, it must be accompanied by days off given for these Sundays (…) and that is why we are going to subsidize the National Labor Inspectorate
– said Szymon Hołownia.
