I do not see the need to debate with Michał Kołodziejczak, who was a representative of the peasants and was one of us. Suddenly he left agriculture, farmers and its activists and went to a party that is destroying and still destroying Polish agriculture, Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Robert Telus told the PAP Studio on Thursday. The Minister of Agriculture, Robert Telus, referred to the words of the leader of Agrounia, Michał Kołodziejczak, who invited him to a debate on Polish agriculture on Wednesday.
At the moment, Kołodziejczak is no longer a representative of the peasants, but a representative of the Civic Coalition. Kołodziejczak should rather ask himself why his party members did not participate in this debate on August 31, when a very important debate took place in the European Union on the extension of the import ban from Ukraine
– said Minister Telus.
When asked if there will be a debate with Kołodziejczak, he replied that “he does not see such a need”.
Kołodziejczak was a representative of the peasants, he was one of us, and suddenly he left agriculture, the peasants, his activists and went to a party that destroyed and destroyed Polish agriculture.
he said.
He recalled that a few weeks ago in the Senate “a game was played for PLN 10 billion for a Polish farmer.”
It concerned fertilising, dry construction, fuel and grain aid. Of this 10 billion, KO senators took 6.5 billion zloty, saying it was a giveaway. Now let Kołodziejczak go to the village and tell the peasant that his friends have taken the money
Telus said.
Tusk and Kołodziejczak call for a debate
PO leader Donald Tusk and head of Agrounia Michał Kołodziejczak summoned Deputy Prime Minister, PiS President Jarosław Kaczyński and Agriculture Minister Robert Telus to an election debate on Thursday. The debate is the only way for all Poles to see what the dispute is really about and what the facts are, Tusk said.
On Thursday, the PO leader visited the family farm of the head of Agrounia, Michał Kołodziejczak – who will run for the Sejm from the KO list – in the town of Błaszki (Łódź Voivodeship).
At a joint press conference, Tusk admitted that both he and Kołodziejczak had made a pragmatic choice by joining the electoral coalition.
Mr. Kołodziejczak influences the decisions of the party, which has a real chance of winning the elections. After these elections, he made a pragmatic choice. I also made a pragmatic choice: I want to implement his projects, his program, as much as possible. He wants to support us in this real chance to win the elections. Farmers can only benefit from this
– said the head of the PO.
Tusk stated that he was proud that the Civic Coalition had such an “ombudsman for agriculture” as Kołodziejczak, who – as he said – is “becoming the leader of the entire opposition when it comes to agricultural issues.”
There’s no time for stupid PiS propaganda here. Do you want to know what Mr. Kołodziejczak, the whole KO and Agrounia want? Then opt for an open debate
– said the head of PO, emphasizing that the leader of Agrounia is ready to debate with the Minister of Agriculture Robert Telus.
Tusk also stated that he was willing to have a debate with PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński.
Kaczynski has been running away from me for years and won’t argue with me. It is no pleasure for me to debate with Mr Kaczyński, but this is the only way for all Poles to see where the dispute lies, what it is really about, what the facts are.
– said the head of the PO.
I urge Kaczyński to debate with me for the last time, and to Minister Telus to debate with Michał Kołodziejczak. If you’re scared, if you want to hide something, we’ll say it out loud anyway
– added.
When asked in Sokołów Podlaski at the end of August about the opposition’s words that it was “afraid to compete with Donald Tusk”, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński replied: “I knew in advance that the opposition would say that, but where would should I be afraid of? by? The Lord who lied, lied and lied again. There really is no reason to be afraid,” Kaczyński replied at the time.
Earlier in government, when asked if Jarosław Kaczyński would take part in the debate with Donald Tusk, Piotr Müller replied: “It is difficult to talk to Donald Tusk in any debate, when many of his words are simply followed by ordinary lies.”
