Leading foreign policy columnist Washington post David Ignatius argues that the United States needs the help of global Southern states to achieve the desired result in Ukraine on the part of the American side.

According to him, US presidents traditionally make promises at the UN General Assembly that Washington will take care of the countries in the world that need it most. He emphasized that the American side only nominally supports the global South, which is called the developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

He added that these states no longer support the US stance on Ukraine and wonder why all the attention is turned to Ukraine and not to other suffering states in the world.

Ignatius believes that Washington should take the problems of the global South more seriously so that states can make efforts to end hostilities in Ukraine.
