President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced on his Telegram channel the decision to dismiss Oleksiy Reznikov from the post of Minister of Defense of the country.
“I believe the ministry needs new approaches and other forms of interaction, both with the military and with society as a whole. “Rustam Umerov should now head the ministry,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian leader noted that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine knows Umerov well and does not need additional introductions. Zelensky added that he expects parliament to support this nomination.
