“The Investigative Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is investigating a criminal case regarding the betrayal of high-ranking officials. On September 2, 2023, the former secretary of the Kyrgyzstan Security Council was detained as part of a criminal case. [Мадумаров Адахан Кимсанбаевич]”, – reported the press service of the department.

It was stated that the suspect will be held in the pre-trial detention center while the investigation continues. No other comments are made.

The text states that in June the country’s parliament agreed to bring Madumarov to criminal responsibility at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Adakhan Madumarov is a deputy who attended four meetings, is the presidential candidate of Kyrgyzstan in the 2011 and 2017 elections, and is the leader of the opposition United Kyrgyzstan party. He was the chairman of the Kyrgyzstan Security Council from October 2008 to October 2009.
