“Alert levels have been maintained as challenges and threats to Poland continue,” said Stanisław Żaryn, Deputy Minister of the Special Services Coordinator. Recently, at the request of the ABW, the Prime Minister extended the validity of the alarm levels.
The alert levels, which were extended by the Prime Minister until November 30, 2023, had been in place in Poland for months
Zaryn told PAP.
Both BRAVO alert level and CHARLIE CRP alert level are used when threat assessments show greater challenges for Poland in terms of potential terrorist threats
he remembered.
The deputy minister-coordinator of the secret services pointed out that we are dealing with a situation that has been going on for a long time, which is why Prime Minister Morawiecki made such a decision following the request of the head of the Homeland Security Service. Desk.
Extended alarm
The Agency estimates that both the BRAVO alert level in Poland and in the case of critical infrastructure beyond our borders, and the CHARLIE CRP alert level in cyberspace are the mechanisms and procedures to continue.
– emphasized the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery.
We are dealing here with threats that will last at least until the end of November, which is why this decision by the Prime Minister is very good.
– added.
The Secretary of State at the Prime Minister’s Chancellery emphasized that the functioning alarm levels determine how the institution operates.
They do not affect the daily lives of citizens. They are not and will not be a burden to our society, but they do increase the vigilance of the relevant institutions that need to be aware of the threats posed by Russia’s long-running hybrid war against Poland.
Zaryn told PAP.
According to the Secretary of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, expanding it will help to maintain certain procedures, for example, related to the management of ICT networks or the management of buildings in places that are critical to our state.
Services on standby
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki signed orders extending the validity of alert levels until November 30, 2023 – 2nd level BRAVO nationwide and 2nd level BRAVO for Polish energy infrastructure outside the country and 3rd level CHARLIE-CRP for threats in cyberspace.
The Government Security Center announced on the government website on Thursday that alert levels have been extended. As the RCB emphasizes, the alarm levels are mainly a signal for the services to be ready for action.
The CHARLIE CRP alert level focuses on the threat of cyber-terrorist attacks; it is the third of the four alert levels set out in the Anti-Terrorist Activities Act. RCB recalled that it is introduced in the event of an event confirming the likely target of a terrorist attack in cyberspace or obtaining credible information about a planned event.
The BRAVO alert level (the second on a scale of four levels) is introduced when there is a heightened and predictable threat of a ‘terrorist event’. This means that the services have information about the potential threat, which is why the public administration is obliged to be particularly vigilant.
