An accident involving a cyclist
The incident involving a cyclist took place after 1 p.m. on Saturday in Lutogniew near Krotoszyn. The car was driven by Health Minister Katarzyna Sójka; drove in a private car.
Spokesperson of the Provincial Police Commander in Poznań, junior insp. Andrzej Borowiak told PAP preliminary findings show this “the cyclist was riding on a cycle path and within the intersection he left this path for a pedestrian crossing and was hit by a pedestrian on this pedestrian crossing”.

The cyclist was not careful
– said the young asp. Marta Mróz of the Greater Poland Police, quoted by the agency.
He added that police officers were inspecting the scene and took notes of the incident.
When asked by PAP whether the driver’s sobriety test was performed at the scene and whether the minister was sober, Borowiak said: “This is a standard test, we have no comment on this matter.”
The event had to be classified as a collision. However, an accident occurs
Initially, the police reported that a 69-year-old cyclist had been taken to hospital with minor injuries (scratches, bruises) and that the event should be classified as a collision.
On Saturday evening, Borowiak informed PAP that the cyclist – as it turned out in the hospital – had injuries for more than seven days.
We therefore qualify this case as an accident
noted Borowiak.
