“The operational philosophy that guides us is to maximize election results, and Law and Justice lists are optimized in this regard. We understand the importance of these choices. On October 15, the direction our country will go will really be decided,” Radosław Fogiel, a PiS MP and head of the Sejm Committee on Foreign Affairs, said in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal about the lists of Law and Justice. in today’s parliamentary elections.
wPolityce.pl: Two days ago we got to know the “ones” on the Sejm’s PiS lists. More places on the list today. It must be admitted that these are proven names, about which we already know a lot. This – as Przemysław Czarnek said when presenting the list in District No. 6 (Lublin) – is the strongest PiS list in history?
Radoslaw Fogiel: Indeed. The operating philosophy that has guided us is to maximize election results, and the Law and Justice lists have been optimized in this regard. We understand the importance of these choices. On October 15, it will be decided in which direction our country will go.
We have been presenting this alternative for a long time. These are, for example, security problems. Whether the Polish border will be safe or whether we will be replaced by those who want to dismantle the barrier on the border with Belarus and run around with plastic bags. The question is whether the Polish army will be strong and modern to deter a potential aggressor so that no one thinks of attacking us, whether it will be further modernized, or whether we will become the head of the Ministry of National Defense who, instead of buying howitzers, will concentrate on ordering Mendeleev plates.
We will similarly decide whether we want to continue economic development, whether we will have decent work and decent wages, or whether we will have a return to unemployment, which was 14.4 percent at its peak under Tusk. On October 15, we will also decide whether Poland will continue to strengthen its position and make decisions on its own, or whether it will simply carry out the orders of the Brussels bureaucracy? This is a measure of the importance of these choices.
That is why the lists have this form and Jarosław Kaczyński, a candidate in Kielce?
According to our main goal: lists should be as strong as possible. We expect that the election battle will be fierce and that every mandate counts. In this context, President Jarosław Kaczyński himself sets the best example by changing the district within the framework of PiS’s assumptions.
In PiS everyone understands that everyone has a role to play, but – as I said – the lists should be as strong as possible, and they are. Therefore, on the lists we will see both current parliamentarians and local government officials who have proven themselves and who enjoy public confidence, who guarantee credibility, but also guarantee good election results. The lists also include people who have not yet taken part in the elections, but who have made achievements in other fields. Whichever constituency you look at, we have very strong lists in everything.
Would you pay attention to the particularly interesting duels of “ones” on the PiS and opposition lists? For example, in your home district of Radom, Marek Suski will face Joanna Kluzik-Rosktkowska.
This might be interesting from a political fan’s point of view, but we are not focused on such duels, but rather on a joint end result. Of course, I have no doubt that our list leader will wipe out the Civic Platform list leader. Anyway, in our region, the situation is such that no one expected such an arrangement on the KO lists. Let us remind you that this caused controversies, disputes and as a result a crisis within the Civic Platform in Radom so that they are not running for elections in the best shape internally.
Matches of “ones” can attract attention and be tempting to report to the media, but what really counts is the result of the entire list. We are a team, we go to the elections as a team and everyone contributes to this result as best they can. It’s not just ‘ones’, but the list is meant to get the highest score.
