We will analyze the situation, we must approach the statements of Belarus with great caution – Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński said Friday in Polsat News, when asked about information about the Polish-Belarusian border crossing by the Polish MI-24 helicopter.
We will analyze the situation, but such statements by the Belarusian services should be approached with great caution, as they are a direct extension of the Lukashenko regime.
Jablonski said.
He explained that “most of the time what they (Belarus services – PAP) say is not based on the truth, and they have to achieve a political goal.” He explained that “usually this aim is to act unfriendly towards Poles, because they treat us as an unfriendly state, they act towards us as a hostile state, they say so openly.”
Provocations of various kinds that have taken place and of which we expect many more, especially in the next six weeks until the parliamentary elections, are unfortunately a common phenomenon that Belarus and Russia take such actions
– said the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Therefore, he added: “Any statements made by the Belarusian security services or services should be approached with great caution.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk stated that it had summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Poland in Belarus in connection with the incident and asked the Polish side to launch an investigation into the incident. When Jabłoński was asked “will the Belarusian diplomat also be summoned to the Polish Foreign Ministry?”, he replied: “We will analyze the situation today, what will happen in the next few hours, and there will certainly be an adequate answer come.” But as he explained, “at this point it’s too early to say what it’s going to be like.”
Statement by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Belarusian State Border Committee reported on Friday that an Mi-24 helicopter belonging to the Polish Armed Forces allegedly violated Belarusian airspace. The machine would move at a “very low altitude”, penetrate the country’s territory for a distance of about 1,200 meters and then return to Poland. The incident took place in the Brzostowice (district) region of the Grodno region, Reuters and AFP reported, citing a statement from the Border Committee.
