Bogusław Wołoszański, candidate for the Civic Coalition in the parliamentary elections, appeared at the opposition party Campus Polska Przyszłości, where he presented his views on Russia’s behavior. Some public life commentators interpreted this as a call for a new reset in relations with the Kremlin.
Bogusław Wołoszański, a famous popularizer of historical knowledge and author of the program “Sensations of the 20th century”, was asked about international politics during the Campus Polska Przyszłości. Wołoszański used the historical context in which he used the treatment of Germany by the victorious powers after the First and Second World Wars.
According to Wołoszański, the more pressure is exerted on the defeated nation, the stronger the revanchist feelings grow in it and the greater the chance for radical political groups to come to power.
Reset 2.0?
Bogusław Wołoszański ended his controversial statement by suggesting that perhaps it would be better to deal with Russia, and not draw too far-reaching consequences from starting the war in Ukraine, in order to solve the problem of radicalism after the fall of Putin to avoid wind. . Some public life commentators in Poland called this statement a reset 2.0.
Politics is a very delicate instrument and you should never say never. What is now may change in a few years. Note how Polish policy towards Germany has changed and how Germany has changed. Because a simple mechanism was used. After the First World War, Germany was humiliated, much of its land was taken from it, it was ordered to pay huge compensations – and rightly so – but in this way this nation was humiliated and Hitler and Nazism grew on this ground . After World War II, this was no longer the case. Germany has changed and has become the leading democracy in Europe. I believe that this is a principle that should guide all politicians. Do no harm, do no harm, just try to get along
– said Bogusław Wołoszański at the Poland of the Future Campus.
