“I have never been in favor of opening the door wide and letting everyone in without any checks, said Magdalena Biejat, MP from the left, in “Signals of the Day” (Programme I of Polish Radio). At the same time, she did not want to give an unequivocal answer to the question of whether it is good that there is a wall on the border with Belarus.
I think Poland’s problem is that we don’t have a good migration policy
said Beyat.
Part of migration policy is how we respond to and prepare for these crises. Because these crises will come and people will come to us
she noted.
In my opinion, this response was not enough. The wall is an excuse not to invest in the Bureau for Foreigners
she added.
A specific question
When the interviewer, Grzegorz Jankowski, asked if it was okay that the wall was on the border with Belarus, the left-wing MP avoided a straight answer.
The Lord reduces our entire policy towards migrants to this policy
she replied.
This wall does not effectively protect Poland. Do you understand that you are putting mulch on this wall?
asked Magdalena Biyat.
We had no way to protect ourselves, not because the wall was there or not, because people still cross that line
she added.
As she said:
This wall is an excuse for those in power not to pursue a migration policy.
No change on the left side. General slogans about humanitarianism, but when it comes to specific matters, politicians’ mouths water. Meanwhile, a threat requires decisive action, not general digressions.
