“There is no other role model for Tusk. The PO politician must have clenched his teeth and fists. Frankly, it bodes very badly,” Marek Jakubiak, entrepreneur and former member of the Polish parliament, tells the wPolityce.pl portal.
wPolityce.pl: Do Law and Justice have reasons to be optimistic when looking at recent ‘acquisitions’ of Donald Tusk, such as Roman Giertych or Michał Kołodziejczak?
Mark Jacobiak: Rafalala and Palikot will stay, as Mr. Brudziński said, and the whole traveling circus will be in one place. I think that Mr Donald Tusk is not betting on constructive parliamentary debate, but on destructive adventurism.
I say this with great sadness, because we are losing the seriousness of the Polish parliament and the seriousness of Polish politics in general.
Since when does Tusk think about domestic politics at all, if he is in a hurry to Western or rather German? That’s where his role models are, that’s why he can fight here. I think this may be the main reason why Tusk is doing this.
Or maybe he has already realized that he is not going to win this election and now wants to make parliament a place of happenings.
In turn, after the controversy surrounding Jan Hartman, the left invited Jana Shostak to his letters. How do you imagine the future Sejm with such colorful figures?
Since Jachira is in the Sejm, anyone can be there. However, it should be emphasized that nominating a candidate is one thing and whether such a person ends up in parliament is another. And that is why I will always appeal to the Polish nation to make wise decisions. The parliamentarians we elect will represent us, so I appeal to accountability to those who put a cross next to their name.
The opposition, especially the Civic Platform, is proposing increasingly controversial candidates and has recently been losing ground in the polls. On the other hand, there is a gain for Law and Justice; subsequent polls show not only an increase in support, but sometimes even an independent majority. Is there still a chance for a new term?
This is in addition to what I said. On the one hand, we have circus performers who make jokes. For example, the Confederacy keeps saying, “We were joking.” They joke here, they joke there, and there is no room for jokes when it comes to the Republic of Poland. This is where the jokes end, because this is not a sandbox, but big politics.
On the other hand, Law and Justice will gain more and more support because there are plenty of serious diplomats and politicians on the PiS side who are really on the same level.
Look what Donald Tusk has done to old-fashioned politicians. With those we considered serious, with whom we sided, we had political differences, yet with smiles on our faces from both sides. There are not any. The teeth should be clamped together on the other side. There is no other role model for Tusk. The PO politician must have clenched his teeth and fists. Frankly, that bodes very badly.
But apart from those clenched teeth and fists, she has a white and red heart on her chest
Because this is the party that brazenly changes its logo in front of the Poles. From smiling Poland to a heart. Smiling Poland would become a symbol of the Platform of All Poles. Now they took out the outline of Poland and wore self-centered hearts, at the same time “stealing” the well-known love symbol of the children, namely the heart.
And what do you think will dominate the election campaign or the October elections in general? Love, patriotism, security? What will this central theme be?
No doubt we are reaching the point where it will be necessary to answer the key questions: are you in favor of extending the retirement age and liquidating security in the East – because this is how both referendum questions should be interpreted, and: in favor of the sale of national assets?
I think these topics will be the most controversial. And in my opinion, this scared the PO very much, because after they take power, the first thing they will do is sell everything that can be sold, and the Germans will not be picky.
The Germans now have a bad conscience that they could have bought whatever they wanted, but they didn’t because they saved some money. Today, Poland is rebuilding itself on the basis of companies that until recently made virtually no profits. So we can only say that if we lose this government, we will lose Poland.
Thank you very much for the interview.
